The 52nd annual Grammy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles. Nearly thirty years ago in Los Angeles, on February 22, 1980, Bob Dylan won his first solo Grammy Award for his 1979 song, "Gotta Serve Somebody," the first song on his first explicitly Christian album, Slow Train Coming. He won "Best Male Rock Vocalist" for this recording. Below is his performance at the 22nd annual Grammy Awards. Lyrics follow.

Bob Dylan and band black tie no less!
I'm a big Dylan fan, and I've always regarded him as prophetic not because he provides answers but because he raises the right questions. Thanks Francis.

Any idea on the current state of Dylan's religious thinking? As a longtime fan, I am curious.

Ahh, what a treat!

He played harmonica(for about 12 seconds) on one of Keith Green's albums back then as well.

there's always hope for a Catholic Dylan. C'mon Bob, you've tried the rest, now try the best !

Thanks for posting this.
